Especially with the voice actors' pronunciations I promise, if I went up to my parents and had them listen to some of the practice sentences in Korean from Duolingo, they would raise an eyebrow and have a few things to correct. I recommended that my parents learn English from Duolingo, since they primarily speak Korean, and the way they taught English was definitely not Korean-friendly either. The quality of their Spanish and French courses are far better, which is just annoying since it shows how little effort they put into the Korean course. And the way the alphabet is taught just sucks in general, and is far too rushed (it teaches people how to listen to the character and convert it into the English alphabet, not actually learn the characters as their own set from a different language). Conjugation is thrown out the window and they assume Westerners understand what "oe" is supposed to sound like. The way they teach Korean is extremely confusing and detrimental to a beginner. WonkyĪnd don't get me started on the vocabulary.
